Heaven on Earth

Updated: Aug 20, 2022

Hello my beautiful sisters!

Today I want to talk about something that we have the ability to put into practice every single day, and that is to bring a little bit of Heaven here on earth.

It is heartbreaking to see a world falling apart. A world filled with so much pain, sorrow, suffering, affliction, and self-destruction. When we see all of this darkness, we must ask ourselves what we would do if we didn't have God. The reality is that a world without God has no hope, but we as believers can lean on the supernatural hope that has been given to us.

God says to put our focus on Him and to keep our eyes on heaven - for that is our eternal destination and home. Psalm 123:1-4 says, "I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaved look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of the maid look to the hand of her mistress, so out eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us His mercy."

While we are residents here on this earth, we have the ability to keep our eyes and minds centered on out true home, but in the meantime, we can invite the Spirit to keep our earthly home as our sanctuary and build an atmosphere dedicated to spending time with the Lord. The true question is, how can we accomplish this?

We can start by being grateful for the blessings that we enjoy daily, as God has enriched our lives with more than what we need. Savor the simple things that make life worth living and remember to share your surplus with others. This is a small daily action that can continually bring the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.

You can also do so by clearing the emotional and physical clutter in your life, opening the door to living life more freely from the heart. As you allow God to bring peace to your heart, you will begin to experience more of the sweet serenity that comes through the fruit of the Spirit. Give thanks for the small joys of living simply in God's abundant and lobbying providence.

I look at it this way: After things pile up in my living rom and start getting too cluttered, I know it is time for me to start cleaning and decluttering. Every time I see the mess, I feel overwhelmed and I instantly crave an atmosphere of peace and calm rather than one of chaos and disorder. As I clean and clear the space, I have to decide what things I want to keep and what I need to dispose of in order to reach organization and serenity. Just like flattering clothes make us feel our best, a peaceful and orderly home will uplift our Spirit and allow us to rest in the peace of Christ.

If your surroundings within your home can provide a serene and safe place to meet with the Lord, your heart and mind can rest peacefully regardless of what is going on in the outside world that is beyond our control. This is a very practical way that we can experience a little bit of heaven on earth.

So, let's start with one room in your home. Clear out the clutter and leave only those things that are meaningful, useful, or beautiful and that will bring peace to your mind and to your spirit. Make the best atmosphere and place for you and Jesus to spend time together and focus on opportunities to bring a little bit of Heaven to earth each day.

In His perfect love,

Cristina
